David thoroughly enjoys traveling and he looks forward to crossing another country off his list soon. He grew up in the midwest, lived on the east coast for the past 15 years, and is adjusting to west-coast life. He loves spending quality time with family and friends. David has a rescue Corgi with the most anxiety named Winnie. He’s passionate about cooking and loves to try new recipes. He is very excited to meet you and get an opportunity to learn more about you and your journey.

David serves as the Post-Doctoral Resident in Counseling/Clinical Psychology within Counseling and Psychological Services at California Lutheran University. David facilitates individual solution-focused brief therapy as well as relationship and group therapy He co-facilitates group supervision for staff clinicians and doctoral practicum trainees. David has a passion for working with emerging adults and has spent the last 20 years in various faculty and staff higher education roles. This position allows him to expand his areas of clinical expertise as well as contribute to the enhancement of skill development and training for fellow clinicians.

David served as a Psychology Extern in the Counseling Center at The Catholic University of America. He managed a caseload of 10 clients facilitating weekly psychotherapy. He also co-facilitated an interpersonal process group, “Understanding Yourself & Others.” He partnered with the Center for Cultural engagement to facilitate a conversation about masculinity and identity development among college students.

David completed a portion of his training (master’s and doctoral internships) at the Community Counseling Services Center in Washington, DC. This is a sliding-scale clinic that provides services to underserved populations in Washington, DC. David provided individual psychotherapy and served as a Doctoral Clinical Supervisor for Counseling Interns providing live supervision. Additionally, he facilitated screenings for prospective clients and served in an on-call rotation that provided support to Counseling Interns navigating emergencies.

David completed his master’s internship at Phoenix House Mid-Atlantic working with adolescents and adults in residential, Partial Hospitalization (PHP), Intensive Outpatient (IOP), and Outpatient (OP). David facilitated the intake process for clients enrolled in the IOP and OP programs. David co-facilitated psychoeducational group therapy weekly with 20-35 adults. Additionally, he conducted assessments and wrote comprehensive reports to guide treatment for the adolescent boy’s residential program.
